Welcome to Maria's world; a world of brightly colored flora and fauna where the viewer is welcome to enter and explore.

Maria paints to suit her interests and believes in painting as a means of story telling; a small, brightly colored slice of life. She is internationally known for her Palm Tree series which involve minimal compositions and a brilliant color palette. In her recent work she has pursued her interest in texture and pattern as well as an interest in the traditional women’s craft of quilt making by adding elements of collage and weaving to her paintings.

People who know and love Maria’s work are drawn to the wide range of subject matter found in her paintings. One day she can be found painting a landscape involving a vintage airstream trailer and the next day she is working on a large bird of paradise painting or a hound dog.

Through her strong compositional sense and a uniquely personal way of using color, Maria has created a style all her own that is often imitated but never duplicated.
